I love mountains. I think it started from all of the road trips as a kid. We’d always seem to head to BC for our family vacations. Living in Beijing is as close to the mountains as I have ever lived. A couple hours on a bus and I can be deep in the mountains. Sure they are not as impressive as the Rockies, but I take what I can get.

I love my 4×5 camera. It is a pain to use. It is slow. It is not that sturdy. It is by no means a pretty camera. But all the same, I love to use it. Seeing big 4×5 negatives is really cool. Some days I want to step up to 8×10 to see if it gives me 4 times the awe that 4×5 does, but the cost and extra effort seem a bit too much at this point. Maybe one day, but for now, I am happy with my Japanese wooden camera.
