Cold in Beijing

These four images are from my time on Koh Rong Island in Cambodia. I had initially only planned to spend 5 days there, but it ended up being closer to 12. It was such a nice break to go somewhere that only had electricity for three or four hours a night, no roads or vehicles and good food. I spent my time with three people who I had become good travel friends with a couple countries back and we spent our time swimming, scuba diving and lounging. It was exactly what I wanted my vacation to be.

Cold setting in

The cold is setting in and it has me thinking about my trip. Prague was a great city. It was snowing for part of my trip and that made it even better. There is something about photographing in snow that I find fantastic. The light is challenging but more interesting. One giant reflector.

Vientiane Laos

These two shots are from Vientiane Laos. I was here about 5 years ago for the first time. I think I mentioned this in a previous post, but it has lost all of the charm that it had, at least along the Mekong riverbank. It’s all concrete and steel now. I liked it better when it was dirt and carpets, a single bulb over the table. But I guess that is just my style.

National Day in China

One picture from Cambodia and three from Saigon. All with my Leica

I meant to post this last week, but the National holiday caught me before I could. I spent the week in Anhui and had a great time. Yes, traveling in China during this week is stressful, but I went to a place that was not completely overrun by tourists. I went to a wedding, I saw thousands of crocodiles, I ate lots of food. Just the way a holiday should be.
