Thank You Lan for kicking my butt into gear.

This post is for Lan. I have known her for years. I don’t know her well, but what I do know is that she is one of the nicest Americans that I have met. We first crossed paths when I was living in Linping. Her grandparents live there and she was spending her summer helping at the hospital in Linping while on summer break from becoming a doctor in America. She sent me a message on Facebook asking why my site was dead, which was news to me.

This post is also for all of the people that I should contact more but don’t. I am sorry. Even in this day and age of computers and instant messages, I suck at communication. Don’t worry, I think of you all, every day.

My Tools

It’s been a while since the last post. It has been too hot to develop film in my apartment recently. I can’t get the water to a low enough temperature. I like to do things at 20’C, I can get by with 24’C but I can’t get even that. It has been bloody hot in Beijing.

I do have some color that I should drop off at the lab this weekend, at least that will give me something to post.

In the mean time, enjoy a shot of what I use to put content on this site. The bag is some random military bag. Inside is a Leica M2, a summaron 35mm and a summicron 50mm. Not in the picture is a voigtlander 35 1.4 that I picked up my last trip to Hong Kong. Film is usually Neopan 400 these days, with the odd roll of Kodak or Agfa colour tossed in.

I have recently been planning a big trip for Christmas. Already it has been draining my bank, but I know that it will be worth it. I’ll write more about it in the near future. Trust that it will be exciting.
